Lækjamót is a horse breeding farm on more than 1,000 hectares of land and has been owned by the same family for over 200 years. Half of Lækjamót land is now owned by Ísólfur Líndal Þórisson and Vigdís Gunnarsdóttir and is named Lækjamót II.  In 2014 opened at Lækjamót II Sindrastadir stable where Ísólfur and Vigdís run for example an ambitious breeding program aiming to produce the ultimate Icelandic horse. Horses raised at Lækjamót II experience varied landscape on over 2,500 acres of land with lowlands, heaths and valleys, all of which strengthen the horse in its formative years. At Lækjamót II you will find the offspring of elite mares and country´s most famous stallions.

 

Vigdís and Ísólfur with their mare Ísey frá Lækjamóti who received the highest score in group of 5 year olds at Fjórðungsmót Vesturlands 2017 and the highest score in group of five years old in the world 2017 with a total score of 8,60.

 

 

Vigdís and Ísólfur receiving rewards for their stallion, Júpiter frá Lækjamóti, who was highest judged 4-year-old stallion at Fjórðungsmót Vesturlands 2017. He received in total score 8,30 and was also rewarded for the highest score for conformation, 8,74.

 

2018 Júpiter became 8th highest judged 5 year old stallion at Landsmót with the total score of 8,42.
